At Lotus Dental we use Perio Protect® as a system for treating periodontal (gum) disease that does not require surgery. As your Ventura dentist, Dr. Rose is fully equipped to treat these infections, so if you are experiencing bleeding or swollen gums you should contact our office right away for an appointment. Perio Protect® works by using a special mouthpiece to deliver medicine right to the source of the infection. It is filled with an antibiotic cleansing solution and placed over the teeth. The mouthpiece holds the solution in such a way that it is kept in contact with the areas where the teeth meet the gums, allowing for maximum penetration to the infection. Your first treatment will take place in our Ventura, CA office where Dr. Rose will teach you how to properly use the mouthpiece and solution. Then you will be able to continue treatments at home.
